2012 - #16 – Tullyroan Oval – 26/5/12
Sixteenth meeting of the season for me and the 9th different venue and in fact the third venue I hadn’t seen racing on before, but then again neither had anyone else. The big day finally arrived to see Tullyroan Oval in all it’s glory and I think it’s fair to say it didn’t disappoint. There was some great racing throughout the evening and decent fields of cars in all classes. Edmund Davis took the opening race win in the Junior Productions before Dan Campbell went on to take the Junior Production final. Stevo McGrath took the flag in both the bangers races, which seemed a little tame, but then hadn’t huge turnouts of cars, but a few really well turned out machines. The other finals went the way of Ben McKee in the Lightning Rods, Sam McKinstry in the ProStocks and Andy Cochrane in the National Hot Rods. The infield marker tyres made the infield difficult to photo from, but these are little bugs that are part and package of a new track, I’m sure in time we’ll get them resolved or better adapt to working around them. The new era has begun!
