The first outing for the 2 Litre's at Tullyroan Oval, the first time we got to see the lights in action and after 2 trips to the track on Saturday, I now have a nice perch to photo the racing from. Following a disasterous week of video and photo work last week, NI Oval TV now has a new perch to film the racing from, thanks to John Steele/ Phoenix Scaffolding, I must add it is a fantastic spot for taking photos and the video footage that I've watched so far is bang on. The downside was that it needed setup prior to race time which meant an extra trip to Tullyroan for me yesterday, getting down shortly after 2pm the first time, then back home, then back down again. Those trips combined with Ballymena on Friday night took me through a full tank of fuel so please, please start buying DVD's or photos to make it worth while, otherwise my commitment to the project isn't going to continue indefenitly as it is currently eating up nearly all of my time outside work and I'm simply not seeing any return for my/our efforts at the minute. Anyway, aside from my gripes about videos and photos, the new perch allowed a new angle of the racing and a great shot straight down the start and finish straight, while it's a great angle, it's great this week becuase it's new, but it will get boring, so I do hope a better solution than tyres on the infield is found soon. Thankfully the lights worked last night and what a difference they make, it was almost like taking photos in daylight again at some spots of the track, they are mighty impressive I must say. On the track Shane Murray took the win in the 2 Litre final, Daniel Campbell took another final win in the Juniors, Warren Thompson took the ProStock final and it was Winston Weir who took the honours in the Lightning Rods. Approx Car Turnout: 86 cars (12 Junior Productions, 24 Lightning Rods, 23 ProStocks, 27 2 Litres)
