2013 - #25 - Tullyroan Oval - 22/6/13
Another weekend and another 2 meetings, given the 4 meetings last weekend and the choice of Ballymena or Aghadowey on Friday night to make four this weekend, it almost seemed lazy to only be doing the 2 meetings, but I’m starting to tire of the hours spent sorting photos and reports and 2 meetings is more than enough in one weekend.

If anything if I’d have added an additional meeting into this weekend I’d have loved to have got to the 60th Anniversary meeting at Kirkistown, but on a busy Saturday I’d also wanted to see the Red Arrows in Carrick and fitting the late departure from my home town and the early start at Tullyroan it all added up to Kirkistown being taken out of the equation unfortunately.

I’ve too many reports to write to go into much detail, and to be honest for the most part it was a pretty forgettable meeting, and at times the most entertaining aspect was watching to see where stand in commentator Ryan Wright was going to pop up next as he went walk about with the Mic.

In the Juniors there was heat wins for Edmund Davis and Bradley McKinstry with McKinstry taking the win in the final after the race was stopped early as Dean McCrory rolled out of the lead.

Despite the forecast there wasn’t a lot of rain on Saturday night, but when it came the Stock Rods seemed to be on track. Stephen McCready took both heat wins before Raymond Harper took the win in what could be best described as a lively final.

In the Robins there was two heat wins for Ian Bolton before John Stewart took the final.

The National Bangers raced for the 2L Irish Open Championship on Saturday night and got a respectable turnout of 30 cars including some visitors from across the water. Stevo McGrath took the honours in the big race with Jamie McAngus winning the all comers and Anto Finnegan taking an action packed DD.
The Bangers also had a mechanics race won by
The Rookie Bangers had their last visit of the season to Tullyroan with Stephen Clarke winning the opening heat and the final and Davy Connolly taking heat 2.

Approx Car Turnout: 67 cars (8 Stock Rods, 30 National Bangers, 15 Rookie Bangers, 11 Junior Productions, 7 Reliant Robins)
