2013 - #27 – Ballymena Raceway - 28/6/13 |
Another weekend and another two stockcar meetings in it, this weekend it was Ballymena on the Friday night for me with the F2’s the main draw for me.
The F2 final was probably the race of the night some early exchanges between the red roofs, which continued later in the race when Ryan McCrory and Craig McConnell continued the theme later on in the race. Conor Hughes won the opening heat and the final, with Chris Kincaid the heat two winner.
The Group 2’s had the biggest turnout of the night with twenty cars in action. Ricky Shaw won the opening heat with Curtis Greer taking the honours in heat two and the final. The biggest talking point of the Gp 2’s was probably a big follow in during the final.
In the Juniors there was heat wins for Jack Kennedy and Jason Darragh, before Dean McCrory won the final.
The ProStocks had, what I think is their first fixture at Ballymena this season, with a limited booking of Tullyroan cars added to the Interspeed promotions own cars, Ryan Abernethy won all three closed grid races.
Approx Car Turn out: 48 cars (BriSCA F2 – 8, ProStocks – 7, Junior Rods – 13, Gp 2’s – 20)

The shot itself isn't great, but it was great to see these two give each other the thumbs up after the race |

We don't get enough sun, so I thought I'd try and photo it... filters required next time |
I spent the entire ProStock final trying to capture this wee flash of flame out of 88 |
