Kincaid Wins F2 Irish Open |
Chris Kincaid won the F2 Irish Open at Nutts Corner Raceway on Saturday 21st of June leading home Chris Burgoyne and Craig McConnell.
It’s seven years since I was last at Nutts Corner, a lot has changed in that time, but in recent years I’d looked at several meetings and thought it was probably time I made a return, only to get to the day itself and either be busy or find that having a day off from racing stuff seemed like a better plan.
Just down to the sheer amount of meetings I take in and the work produced from them, it’s unlikely I’ll ever be a regular at Nutts Corner again, but it was nice just to stand on the outside of the fence for a change and watch the F2’s.
Craig McConnell won the opening qualifying heat with Chris Burgoyne taking the win in the second heat. McConnell and Kincaid shared the front row for the final, with Kincaid getting the better start and getting straight into the lead, a lead he wasn’t to lose throughout. Kincaid led home Burgoyne and McConnell while Gavin Fegan put himself in the thick of the action further down the field hitting anything that was on front of him, I think ending up 5th or 6th, but providing most of the races highlights.
