Big League debut at Lochgelly |
At the start of June all I could see was a wall of fixtures, having no free time, spending every waking hour doing something for the racing, I ended up missing a meeting or half a meeting as it turned out that I’d have liked to have gone to, but it wasn’t as hard work as I’d expected it to be. So far the highlights of the month hadn’t been going to plan, the Bangers at Aghadowey were poor, the Saloon Irish I didn’t even bother with and the F2 Irish ended up re-routed although that did see me return to Nutts Corner, it’s fair to say meetings I’d less expectation of did deliver good racing. The F1’s at Lochgelly I was expecting to be one of my highlights of the season and one I was really looking forward to. It was worth the trip for the noise and the spectacle and the BriSCA minis and 1300s were on top form. It’s rare now that I get to see something I’d never seen before, but I finally got to see the Stockkarts in action, and they were OK with around 30 of them on track.
Tom Harris was untouchable in the F1’s taking the heat win and the final comfortably and another few laps in the GN and he’d have been in the mix. Another formula seen and another track I’ve seen the F1’s at, their world final remains on my “to-do” list though.
