I know, I know If you went to the NEC you’ve seen it all and probably have more photos than I took, and if you didn‘t go to the NEC then you’ve probably seen it all on facebook already. None the less, here are some of my photos from this year’s NEC show. From a local oval racing perspective the star of the show had to be Andy Best’s new Stock Rod Corsa D. The photos don’t really do the car justice but I’m sure you’ll see it at a track near you soon and it’ll be interesting to see how it fairs. Another DMC car on display was Megan Murray’s HCD built Junior Production. After a season in Ninja Karts Megan will be stepping up into the Juniors in 2015, the car looked superb and it’ll be great to see it on track too. The third and final NI car on display was the Randall F2 of Scott Finlay, another well turned out car and it’ll be interesting to see how a new Randall fairs in NI on a grid becoming every increasingly dominated by RCE’s. I’d been told that in recent years there had been less and less oval racing stuff, but I thought it was about as much as there was the last time I was there, which seems like yesterday but was actually 2005! Autograss had a much bigger representation than I recall and had some very tidy machinery on display as well. I think it’s probably fair to say that the most represented discipline around the show was oval racing, which is quite a feat given the sheer amount of motorsport there is and the size of the show.
