Weekend Roundup from DMC Meetings
The season may only be a few weeks old, but with the first speedweekend trip of the year over it’s already starting to feel well established.

After being away last weekend I made the decision earlier in the week that I’d only be doing two of the three meetings this weekend and judging by the crowds at them I wasn’t alone in missing meetings.

My first stop of the weekend was Aghadowey where the Ninja Karts King of Aghadowey topped the bill and included Scottish visitors Charlie Hardie and 84??. Sam McNeice won a very entertaining final after a dice with Shea Fegan and Adam McFall.

In the Juniors there was heat wins for Ninja Kart graduates Graham Meek and Adam weir before Chris Knipe won the final. The juniors are in a bit of an unpredictable phase at the minute, with so many drivers moving on you just have no idea who is going to win.

The Superstox made their season debut at the 2015 World final debut and all eyes were on a scrap between Gary Grattan and Kyle Beattie, well, when I say all, I mean all but mine, the first I seen of the initial exchange was when I heard the bang and turned to see a cloud of tyre smoke when Gary put Beattie in and I was watching Darren Bevan remove himself from the wall when Kyle put Gary in, I’ve since watched that on the DVD.

Lee Davison took a heat and final double with Denver Grattan the other head winner in the Supers.

Norman Purdy won the Thunder Rod final, their opening heat featured a pile up of National banger proportions.

Andy Best debuted his new Corsa D Stock Rod that was one of the stars of the NEC show. Rodney Fleck took a heat and final double in the class.

Sunday seen the action switch to Tullyroan and five different classes and a further four Scottish Visitors, Tam Melrose, 70, 145 in the ProStocks and Gordon Alexander in the 2.0 Hot Rods.

The ProStocks got the meeting underway with car numbers in the high 20’s. Jame Goldie took heat one before Dan Shannon’s superb run of form seen him win heat two and the final, his third final win in as many meetings.

Neil Capper won both heats in the Lightning Rods before Feargal McNally took the final, but the big battle was for second with Mark Corry holding on to take it.

The Yellow graders dominated the 2 Litres with Gareth Thompson winning the opening heat and the final and Lee McCracken took the other heat win.

The 1300s had another action packed afternoon with former Junior driver Robert Mawhinney winning the opening heat, Ben Armstrong took the second heat before William Hodgen won the final.

Ian Bolton won both heats in the Robins, Mark Abram won the final.
