Tullyroan Oval 24/5/15 |
It might not be that long into the season but it’s already starting to feel like a bit of a relentless battle of never ending racing stuff, so I was thankful to have what is quite a long break from the previous Friday’s meeting at Aghadowey to Sunday’s meeting, although I would have been at Ballymena on Friday night had I not been at the Clarkson, Hammond and May Live tour. An autograss outing and taking a room apart to decorate have also kept me on my toes over the past week.
It’s a strange feeling in the middle of racing season when you aren’t going to a race meeting on Friday night or Saturday night then you’re almost starting to get with drawl symptoms by Sunday.
The Tullyroan meeting started with a moments silence for Keir Millar and once again most of the cars were displaying a gold bumper in memory of Keir.
Race action wise the ProStocks were in great form throughout the afternoon with numbers creeping back up to the mid 20s. A regrading has shuffled the deck a bit, Steven McNeill won the final.
The 1300s seen two heat wins for Peter Greer from the white grade, this earned him a jump up to yellow for the final, where he drew pole and looked to have walked off with it too. A late yellow flag when Kyle McLean went into the wall heavily on turn two brought out the yellows and brought everyone back into play with just a few laps to go. After a few frantic bends and a last bend that any one from about six drivers could have come out in the lead it was Ivan Elliott who took the win.
Denver Grattan continued to dominate in the Superstox taking the Tullyroan Challenge Cup.
The 2 Litre Hot Rods had been in great form all day and it was Adam Heatrick who won the meeting final.
In the Ninja Karts there was first race wins for Jay Clyde and Corrie Sterling before Sam McNiece won the final.
