Lily’s the first Lady of the Ninjas |
Lily Gallagher became the first young lady winner of a Ninja Kart final at DMC Race Promotions on Sunday afternoon at what was a rare dry meeting.
Sunday’s meeting had would could be best described as a strange mix of classes which was kicked off with the Ninja Karts. Shea Fegan took both the heat wins before Lily Gallagher became the first young lady racer to win a Ninja Kart final. Lily had previously won a heat and Sophie Willis had also won heats in the past.
Following in race order the Reliant Robins raced raced for their challenge cup and the closed grid format provided better racing than the normal graded starts. Billy McClean won the final.
After I spent the rest of the weekend looking at Vintage tractors and vehicles, I was nice to see some Classic Hot Rods action and it’s hard to beat the sound of them and the spectacle of them sliding round the bends, I’ve definitely warmed to them this season. Kenny Wilson won the final.
The ProStocks had an eventful afternoon with countless stoppages in their opening heat and plenty of action and big action finishes to races. Steffan McClelland won both the heats and ran a close second to Steven Haugh who took the final.
The Lightning Rods had a lively afternoon for the final round of their Car Culture Series. Richard Stewart won the opening heat but was later loaded from the meeting presumably for speeding into the pits after being excluded from heat two for an incident with Davy Hearst. Jordan Rochford won heat two and went on to win the final in which only five cars made it to the finish.
