The Ballymena Carfest show took place on Saturday 11th of June.
This year there wasn’t quite a strong a display from Oval racing, with much fewer cars on display than there has been in recent years. Frankie Lynn’s National Hot Rod and Jamie McCurdy’s Junior Rod where amongst the first few cars you seen as you entered the show. Darwin Wright’s Anglia and Aaron Moody’s junior were on display, while Nuttscorner Oval looked to have the only official showing with new Robins for Ryan Wright and Ian Bolton, Ricky Shaw’s new Lightning Rod, Terry Maxwell’s Tigra B National Hot Rod and one of Jonny Murdock’s national bangers.
Other stars of the show included a Toyota Formula 1, a Peugeot 205 T16 and a Lamborghini Murcielago, as well as rows and rows competing in the various competitions.
The Northern Ireland truck show was part of the display this year, with some fantastically turned out trucks on display, including a “Titanic” themed Maxwell Freight horse.
