Ballymena 30th Anniversary As we approach the 35th Anniversary meeting at Ballymena Raceway, I thought I'd take a bit of time to reflect on the 30th Anniversary meeting as it sticks out in my head as one of the "special meetings" that I've been to over here. We again got good weather, and this time the BriSCA F2’s and the ORCi Lightning Rods joined the Group 2’s in supporting the Stock Rods. [see the full article] Added: 26 Aug 2012 Category: 2012 Oval Racing 2012 - #31 – Ballymena Raceway – 24/8/12 Day one of the Ballymena Raceway Speed Weekend and 2012 Stock Rod World Championship. Somehow when the rest of the country seemed to be getting rain it was dry at Ballymena, I’m certainly not complaining, I’m just more used to Stock Car racing being in the only place in the country it is raining. I opted out of playing indoor football this week in order to be at Ballymena in time for the start, which was a bit odd for me not having to try and work out which races I’d missed and I even had to cue to get to get in and things like that, like normal people who arrive on time do. [see the full article] Added: 19 Aug 2012 Category: 2012 Oval Racing 2012 - #30 - Ballymena Raceway - 17/8/12 Thirtieth meeting of 2012 for me, and it I just picked up from where last week left off, still lacking enthusiasm for the racing, now starting to lack the enthusiasm for photography as well. It could be the extra hours spent travelling to Tullyroan this season, or the more frequent trips to the diesel pump, the extra hours on front of the computer editing videos, or just the mindset that there is far too many meetings here that I’d got into at the start of the season is really starting to take a toll. It’s all starting to feel like much more of a chore than a hobby or leisure time activity. [see the full article] Added: 15 Aug 2012 Category: Anything Else C.D.T.E.C Rosemount 2012 The County Down Traction Engine Club held their annual run and show at Rosemount in Greyabbey in on the weekend of the 11th and 12th of August. Somehow it managed to be staged on what was perhaps the best Friday and Saturday of the year weatherwise, which certainly added to the enjoyment of it. [see the full article] Added: 05 Aug 2012 Category: Anything Else Ballywalter Tractor Run 4/8/12 The Ballywalter Presbyterian Church vintage run took place on Saturday 4th August 2012. This was the first run that I had done, probably four or five years ago now and it is one I always enjoy. Thankfully it stayed dry. Here are some photos from this years run.
