The National Hot Rods topped the bill with their final World Qualifying round and with the points title and the qualifying spots still to play for. [see the full article] Added: 28 May 2012 Category: 2012 Oval Racing 2012 - #16 – Tullyroan Oval – 26/5/12 Sixteenth meeting of the season for me and the 9th different venue and in fact the third venue I hadn’t seen racing on before, but then again neither had anyone else. The big day finally arrived to see Tullyroan Oval in all it’s glory and I think it’s fair to say it didn’t disappoint. [see the full article] Added: 24 May 2012 Category: 2012 Oval Racing Tullyroan Oval Practice Night Having missed the practice day on Saturday, I managed to make it to practice night. I must admit to be struggling a bit with angles, it's all new, it's all different, it's like giving a child the run of a sweet shop. The track still amazes me and it was the first time I'd seen cars on it, it's going to be some spot. If I can offer any advice to those who haven't been in the evening.... bring a baseball cap or sunglasses, I image turn one and the back straight will be the most popular and you'll be watching the racing into the sun. [see the full article] Added: 23 May 2012 Category: 2012 Oval Racing 2012 - #15 - Northampton - 19/5/12 I appears I've reached a strange point in my life where by mid May I have seen the F2's more times on the mainland than I have at home and in fact I've now seen the F1's on the mainland as many times as I've seen the F2's at home. While on a trip away I managed to find my way to another Stockcar meeting, this time at Northampton. [see the full article] Added: 23 May 2012 Category: Other Motorsport Donington Grand Prix Collection While on my travels in England last week, I managed to call in to the Donington Park Grand Prix Collection. Situated on the site of Donington Park the collection hosts a number of past Formula one cars and a few other bits and pieces from motorsports past, as well as a war collection. If your in the area it is well worth calling in and seeing. [see the full article] Added: 10 May 2012 Category: 2012 Oval Racing Tullyroan Oval - Latest Pics On Tuesday night I had my first trip to Tullyroan since last October, I’m pleased to say it looks a little more like a Stockcar track now (or a Hot Rod track, depending on your perspective), and what a sight it is for sore eyes. I've been quite well travelled this season, and Belle Vue was the 7th track I've been to this season. When this trip was booked earlier in the year we knew nothing of the plans for Rob Speak's big Aspire fundraiser, so it was an added bonus to see oval racing most succesful star in action again and brought back memories of the 99 season as Speak jumped from one car to the other. When the trip was first booked it looked as thought it would make it the first meeting I'd miss at Tullyroan, but as it has worked out I missed the last meeting at Nuttscorner Oval instead.
