The run itself took in some interesting lanes and in a few places I thought the puddles were that deep I might end up getting my feet wet, but I enjoyed it all the same. [see the full article] Added: 27 Jun 2013 Category: 2013 Oval Racing NIF2 Photos in the Press Earlier in the week, I was flicking through facebook and seen the new profile photo for Wheelspin magazine, some of you may have seen it, it has Keith Martin on it. The profile pic is the cover shot of the July issue of the magazine, to some people reading this it'll be special because it has an NI car on it, but to me this one is extra special, because it's my photo. Nearly 12 years on from I first sent off my first contribution to unloaded 7.3, and finally I've managed a cover shot of one of Oval Racing's top magazines. [see the full article] Added: 24 Jun 2013 Category: 2013 Oval Racing 2013 - #26 – Tullyroan Oval – 23/6/13 The second part of the big banger weekend and a change of scenery in the supporting classes with the turn of the Superstox, 2 Litres, Ninja Karts and ProStocks taking the stage. Possibly due to a lack of sleep I had got in my head it was a one o’clock start (I’m in speedweekend mode already) and not 2 o’clock, which led to me arriving at Tullyroan much earlier than I’d anticipated. A lively practice session seen a few bumps, scraps, spins and slaps off the wall and perhaps reduced the turnout by one or two cars in the process. [see the full article] Added: 24 Jun 2013 Category: 2013 Oval Racing 2013 - #25 - Tullyroan Oval - 22/6/13 Another weekend and another 2 meetings, given the 4 meetings last weekend and the choice of Ballymena or Aghadowey on Friday night to make four this weekend, it almost seemed lazy to only be doing the 2 meetings, but I’m starting to tire of the hours spent sorting photos and reports and 2 meetings is more than enough in one weekend. Thankfully we didn't encounter an F2 going the other way on the trip to Tullyroan or instinct might have kicked in and I'd have ended up at Nutts Corner, having some sort of meltdown as to why I was there and why I still wasn't going in. In this instance, an eye infection I'd been nursing all week and I thought was just hay fever, turned out to be much more serious and ruined my evening, [see the full article] Added: 16 Jun 2013 Category: Anything Else Ballymena Carfest - 8/6/13 The Carfest show in Ballymena, along with the Ultimate Car show in Larne are two car shows that I try to get to each year, sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't. This year I was supporting the Oval racers taking part in a football 7's tournament in Randalstown and I just about squeezed a quick run around the show in before heading on to get down to Tullyroan. June is a frantic month for oval racing fans in Northern Ireland, I think I counted a total of 15 meetings in June with a few clashing ones. [see the full article]
